what are some of opinions about this website?
what are some positives and negatives to online gaming such as these?
i know for me i dont think that these games would be educational for toddlers because they arent into learnering. i think the play online gaming because of pure entertainment.
i think advatanges are for more of kids that are possible in pre-k and up. that is the age for young kids to start exploring with online eucational games. i think games that have characters such as Dora are great. because she is something that young kids pay attention to.
some positives to online game is that kids want to play with these games more because these games are eye catching. they grab the attention of the child. one negative to this is kids sometimes if not often do not look at these games as educational. they just want to play because it looks fun and otfen forget about that being taught to them once they are away from the game.

ReplyDeleteI think you've hit on some of the positives. The site is definately attention grabbing. One downside I found with the site is that as I got deeper and deeper in, I got lost. The advertisements also became annoying and I don't think a child would stay in. But, I think you're locating some interesting kid oriented gaming sites.

Bruce, I think that you have good critiques of the site. While I didn't explore a lot of it, I will say that young kids do like learning through games. My 3-year-old nephew has several electronic toys that he likes to play with, and I think that he also likes games on the computer. Anything with Yo Gabba Gabba or Wow Wow Wubbzy will completely hold his attention.

ReplyDeletei agree i got lost as i went deeper into the website. i know for me this website became more for adults. they are trying to advirtse to parents that this would be good for there child.
hey Leight, i agree about the games being a great way to learn for children. i think if these game can incorporate avatars into them so kids can see something they created interact with these characters such as Yo Gabba Gabba and Dora.
